moonpause
moon rituals for peri/menopausal qtibipoc
“Your body is both tome & temple. Pleasure is the Prayer.”
A portal practice for QTIBIPOC menopausal bodies
Menopause is a portal. Not an ending, not a loss, not the moment your body becomes invisible or irrelevant—but a threshold into different forms of power, wisdom, and erotic knowledge.
The kyriarchy has a script for menopausal bodies: you're done, dried up, sexually obsolete, no longer valuable. Medical racism means research excludes you, treatment protocols ignore you, ancestral practices that would have honored this transition were stolen or disrupted. Ageism says you're invisible. White supremacy erased the knowledge your ancestors held about this passage.
What if menopause is actually the moment when your erotic energy is freed from reproductive narratives entirely? When you access sovereignty the kyriarchy has no script for? When claiming pleasure in this body becomes an act of insurgency against every system that tried to write you off?
This is that space.
What this is
A three-month ceremonial journey meeting on threshold days—the day before each new moon and the day after each full moon. Six live rituals designed specifically for Queer, Trans, Intersex, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color moving through menopause.
We work with:
Erotic reclamation: Discovering what pleasure, sensuality, and power feel like when they're no longer tethered to reproduction
Ancestral remembering: Connecting with the knowledge that was stolen about honoring this life stage
Body sovereignty: Refusing the medical racism and ageism that says your symptoms don't matter, your experience isn't real, your desire is inappropriate
Portal wisdom: Accessing the different forms of knowing and power available in this phase that aren't accessible anywhere else
Structure
April - June 2025
Six live sessions across three months, each month exploring a different theme:
April - Cultural Roles: Who are we now—or who will we become? What role, label, or identity fits our particular cultural ties in this life phase?
May - Gender: How do we understand our gender more fully or more narrowly now? What shifts in this portal?
June - Libido: How has our desire changed and what is our new relationship to it?
Each month includes:
Day before new moon: Ritual for what we need to bring in, call forward, attract
Day after full moon: Ritual for what we need to let go of, release, shed
Plus ongoing forum for processing, support, and staying connected between rituals.
Who this is for
QTIBOC (Queer, Trans, Intersex, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) currently moving through menopause—perimenopause, active menopause, or post-menopause. You're navigating hot flashes, shifts in desire, body changes, and a world that has no reverent language for what you're experiencing.
This space centers your safety, your wisdom, and your right to pleasure in this body at this life stage.
Who this is NOT for
This is not a medical program or hormone replacement therapy consultation. This is ceremonial and somatic work. If you need medical support, please seek that alongside (not instead of) this practice.
This space is explicitly for QTIBIPOC. If you are white, Moon Molt may serve your liberation work better.

This is your sacred lil vibe check—our velvet rope against the T.R.A.S.H.
(That’s transphobia, racism, ableism, sexism, homophobia)
...and any dusty energy trying to sneak in wearing liberation drag.
This ain't a job interview, boo. It's a spell.
One that protects the pleasure, power, and presence of this space.
So take a breath. Answer with honesty, curiosity, and maybe a little shimmy.
If you’re not bringing hateration or holleration, you already belong in the dancery. 🪩
My Experience
I did my very first solo sex magic ritual in 1997 or 1998 & it was wildly successful.
My background in magick goes back to my early teen years of calling myself a witch and being one of the only 2 girls in my playgroup who could get the Ouija Board pointer to move. I got into Dianic Witchcraft when I came out as a dyke in 1988, but that soon felt too White for me. It was around that time that I got my hands on a copy of Jambalaya by Luisah Teish & it spoke to me on a very foundational level. For many years after I would do a modified version of the house-cleaning ritual outlined in the book (I still do).
A couple of decades later I found myself through a series of “coincidences” in the Ifa Temple headed by Luisah Teish, and named as a child of Yemaya. I’m also really clear that my work mostly fall’s into Oshun’s realm & I call on her at the beginning of my sessions & classes.
In 2016 I led New Moon Money Pouring rituals in my house for several months. In 2018, I led new moon & full moon rituals on Alameda Beach in CA. Currently I have a group of friends that I do New Moon Money Pouring with online.
My goal is to have a life where I spend the New Moon & Full Moon in ritual space. I also seek to create a community of qtipoc who want to dive deep into the magical power of pleasure to design the lives we desire & deserve.
